Christmas has come early to the Pride Shelter! On top of the amazing freezer we received last week, we have now had two more fantastic items donated to us!

So, thank you very much to Michael Van Dijk from Solutions4IT for giving us a much-needed photocopier and scanner.

And to Sulona Rheddy for donating a Dri Buddi electric clothes dryer!

On Sunday, 14th December, we attended the EvH Pink Awards at Club West End in Rylands.

The EvH Pink Awards, started by the fabulous Enigma Von Hamburg, are now in their third year and recognise the contribution made by individuals and organisations to the LGBTI community in Cape Town and beyond.

The Pride Shelter Trust was up for LGBTI Organisation of the Year, and Matron Jan for Community Builder of the Year!

It was a fantastic evening and we met a lot of lovely people doing great things for the LGBTI community.

While the Pride Shelter Trust and Matron Jan did not win, we are delighted that they were nominated and considered. And we know that the PST and Matron Jan (and Derick De Kock) are winners anyway as they give so much to the LGBTI community.

On Saturday, 6th December, we hosted our annual Cheese & Wine. It was a beautiful day on which to enjoy the garden and some good food and wine. Thank you to everyone who attended!

Events like this are important to us as we have the opportunity to introduce the shelter to people and let them know about what we do for LGBTI people in crisis.
